As a Hampshire Wedding Photographer, all I need for a great wedding shoot are some simple ingredients – a couple in love, pretty village church, Hampshire countryside setting, a barn, summer sunshine and a party.
Alex & John’s Hampshire wedding day had all of these in abundance, plus several extra tasty bits to mix in to a fine banquet of wedding photo opportunities !
Their ceremony was at St Andrews church in the village of Medstead. Alex looked lovely in her full length dress and veil, escorted by her two bridesmaids. John slipped a tear or two as he saw his bride and it was a gentle, touching ceremony.
Their reception took place at Bonhams Barn, with its glorious setting by golden wheat fields. The party had a vintage theme with lashing of lemonade in jam jars, cakes and old tea cups. I loved the colourful touches in the barn – the suspended flowers around the cheese table, spreads of food, bright red summer pudding, flowers and sweeties. A guitarist added to the atmosphere outside, singing some laid back tunes.
The wedding dinner was coordinated by the best lady, who obviously can multitask, as it was a fine meal of summer delights. We managed some photos later in the wheat fields with the sunset which was magic. Having done a romantic spin with her hubbie, Alex then showed us how to really dance, with her long dress spectacularly airborne in a centrifugal twister.
What a glorious day to be a part of !
