A lovely couple, pretty church, quirky reception venue, great party people, beautiful evening light – it all came together superbly, for Olivia & Josh’s fantastic Hampshire wedding day.

Olivia and all the bridesmaids were getting ready at her home. Mum and dad also found a bit of space for their preparations. Hair and make up technicalities were expertly handled by Suzanne Dusek. The bridesmaids dresses were from Asos and Olivia’s dress from The Farnham Boutique.

The ceremony was at St Lawrence Church, in Alton. I loved the old stone doorway, with mighty wooden door. Josh and his ushers looked super smart in their suits and waistcoats, supplied by Slaters.

An old bus (old style, not rusty, smoky, or clapped out) brought the bridesmaids & guests safely to the church, the company aptly named Safeguard coaches. Olivia & her father came in a snazzy car (sorry can’t recall which make/model). She looked drop dead gorgeous, coming down the aisle. Bouquet & other flowers all done by her sister & maid of honour.

The ceremony was v special, with a choir and readings from family members. I enjoyed my slightly unobtrusive vantage point, tucked in behind the choir, to capture the vows & rings.

After confetti and cheers, we did groups shots at the front of the church, while guests took the (safe) bus on to the reception. A good plan to get the groups done paid off, as we did get a spot of rain coming in later. It also meant everyone was free to enjoy the celebrations.

The reception took place at The Departure Lounge Café, a truly wonderful place to hang out & celebrate. Photo opportunities include the cool café interiors, fields for the boys to play games, a marquee for dining, campfires and a mock aeroplane! I enjoyed working alongside the guys from Purple Stripe Wedding Films, a really easy relaxed pair, who I can recommend for your wedding – see their video    https://www.facebook.com/PurpleStripeFilms

The reception all flowed along well, slight bit of rain, but didn’t spoil the spirit of occasion. The marquee had been decorated by Olivia , family & Friends and looked stunning. Decorations supplied by Hampshire Vintage Wedding Hire. After dinner and speeches, we were blessed with a stunning evening sunset. Just loved those shots with the low dipping sun.

The first dance and subsequent rockin, indie hits were delivered in glorious, belting style by The Indie Killers. What a band, what a night and what a cool Hampshire Wedding day !
